The 'takeaway' beef soup is delicious. Remember to cook the noodles yourself. The meat is very big and the soup is very thick, so you need to add water.

Authentic Taiwanese hotpot with reasonable prices. My go-to is their half and half pot, half spicy (mala) and half sour cabbage. The best combination! Both came with tofu, so good. (Note: two soup bases would be charged around $14 per person, yes, they charge per person) All the hotpot ingredients are pretty fresh. Also, meat quality are good. Would recommend getting their spare ribs(排骨酥), tempura, duck blood to experience the true flavors of Taiwanese hotpot. Bonus points: you can do half order to try as many as you want!!! Overall, it’s a yummy Taiwanese hotpot place, and we love this place. Highly recommend. #bb13

Ah Lien owned by a small Taiwanese family may close by the end of this month due to slow business. This is one of the best hot pots and probably the last authentic Taiwanese hot pot in SoCal. The soup broth is tasty and authentic to Taiwanese flavors. They have a high quality and vast selection of meats. The service is fast & efficient as they are very quick with getting your orders. The price point may be a bit high compared to shabu shabu or AYCE places, but their quality is top notch. I've been a long time customer and I really do hope the community would come out and support this small business & the family one last time!

I ate this hot pot more than 20 years! One of my teachers told me she never like spicy hot pot, then she complained to me she came 3 times in a week because it smells and tastes soo good! It’s the best Taiwanese spicy hot pot! I love the smell and taste: food is great quality, and when I eat hot pot with friends—-we always buy it and enjoy the hot pot with all my friends! Come eat it yourself: I respect the owner is honest and sincere: he believes providing fresh food and great quality of food to his customers—-he has been doing it for 20+ years! Wish them the best business and last forever! Thanks you so I can enjoy my home food!

This is the only Taiwanese spicy hot pot in town and it's good. The broths are made in house and they're not greasy, not salty like other hot pot places. The restaurant also delivers to the west side through their LINE groups

I finally got to try this place since an old friend of mine loves this place. I have to say their SOUP BASES are what makes this place shine. We ordered the half and half (spicy + sour cabbage). You can tell that the broths were made in-house and doesn't come from any packaged ingredients. Maybe there's minimal to little MSG, but the soup bases had a lot of flavor, were clear, not greasy, and weren't heavy like other hotpot places. We order several cuts of beef, which were pretty good. They aren't like wagyu cuts, but they were fresh and good. I was just happy it didn't taste like something I can buy from Hmart (which is acceptable) or Ranch 99 (which I refuse to eat). We also ordered several veggies (tong-ho, nappa, watercress, various mushrooms) and they were thoroughly clean/fresh (no yellow parts). They have a pretty comprehensive list of sides to order and I enjoyed their meatballs/fishballs. We ordered items that exceeded our table space so the owners just left things on adjacent tables until we were able to make room for them. LOL. This is a low-key, mom-and-pop place, so don't come here expecting X-pot or Mikiya grade of service/setting. The couple that runs the place is casual and nice. The waitress (mom) was very honest. She made sure we ordered what we ordered because she didn't want us to over order and not eat everything, so I appreciated that (they aren't all about large tabs and profits). Our bill came out to like $180 for 3 ppl before tip. This is not an AYCE place. We could have ordered a little less, but I would definitely come back again because it is a humble hot pot place with TONS of flavor in their clean broths
